Alexis Papalia is a writer from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She graduated from the Pittsburgh Creative and Performing Arts High School with a major in literary arts and Chatham University with bachelor’s degrees in political science and English. Currently, she is employed full time with Trib Total Media, a regional newspaper group in southwestern PA. There, she primarily works on obituaries, though she has written numerous theater reviews, concert reviews, feature articles and advertorial pieces for Trib Total Media’s publications. She has published one nonfiction book, Alexis: My True Story of Being Seduced by an Online Predator, about a traumatic experience from her teen years.
Alexis is especially interested in writing about politics, arts and entertainment, and current events. Though it was not what she expected to enjoy, she also enjoys getting to write advertorial and native advertising pieces. She enjoys a wide variety of types of writing, from poetry to creative nonfiction to, occasionally, fiction. Being visually impaired, Alexis can also read and write in Braille. In the future, she hopes to write more books and expand the scope and volume of her published work. Alexis sees any new topic or medium as a challenge and relishes getting to learn and try new things with the written word. She currently lives in the Pittsburgh area with her husband and three cats.
